His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was a teacher, author, and cultural ambassador whose life inspired communities, cultural centres, and places of learning throughout the world.
He is one of the world’s most influential spiritual authors. He authored and translated over 80 volumes of Vedic literature, making timeless wisdom accessible to millions around the globe. His works include the internationally acclaimed Bhagavad-gītā As It Is, the multi-volume Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, The Nectar of Devotion, The Nectar of Instruction, Teachings of Lord Caitanya, Kṛṣṇa – The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Easy Journey to Other Planets, Science of Self-Realization, Perfect Questions, Perfect Answers, and many other enduring classics. Today, his books have been translated into more than 100 languages and continue to inspire scholars, seekers, and spiritual practitioners worldwide.
Born in Kolkata, India in 1896, he later travelled internationally with a vision to share timeless values centred around compassion, conscious living, meaningful community, hospitality, learning, music, and spiritual reflection.
Over the following years, his message resonated with people from many different cultures and backgrounds, inspiring the development of cultural communities, heritage centres, festivals, retreats, farms, educational initiatives, and places designed to encourage reflection, connection, and a more balanced way of living.
At the heart of his teachings was the idea that meaningful living is shaped not only by personal success, but also by:
- how people connect with one another,
- how communities gather,
- how hospitality is offered,
- how culture is preserved,
- and how individuals contribute positively to society.
The vision for Srila Prabhupada Castle draws inspiration from these values.
The intention is to preserve the beauty and heritage of Overnewton Castle while creating a welcoming environment where culture, celebration, hospitality, learning, reflection, and community life can coexist harmoniously within a unique heritage setting.
Today, Srila Prabhupada’s books, teachings, and cultural communities continue to inspire millions of people worldwide and remain the foundation for many projects centred around learning, hospitality, service, culture, and meaningful human connection.
